This painting from 2014 into 2015 is and example of a period
in my work where I narrowed down the formal language into
a concise organization of cylindrical structures.
The composition is allover, equalizing both positive and negative space.
There is a similarity here to Leger. He simplified forms into cylinders, as well,
but in a flatter more Cubist pictorial vernacular.
I am not emphasizing a flat surface. Rather my intent is to dissolve the
picture plane and to emphasize and actual, sculptural type of solidity.
